Joseph Melrose, the Ursinus Ambassador-in-Residence and professor in the Politics and International Relations Department, was interviewed by several news outlets about the assassination of the Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.An interview with Ambassador Melrose is on the NBC web site, which calls him the State Department’s “Mr. Fixit” who helps embassies begin operating again after a terrorist attack. He describes his experiences in Beruit, Nairobi and Sierra Leone, where he was the U.S. Ambassador.
In The Mercury (Pottstown, Pa.), Melrose talks about Middle East political situation. The former Ambassador to Sierra Leone and foreign service officer has been on location during embassy attacks in several countries. Melrose was also interviewed by the Harrisburg Patriot-News.
